Home
Welcome to the homepage of the Kingskerswell based wargames club - South Devon Games Club, a weekly club for die-hard wargamers!
We provide a friendly atmosphere in which to challenge new opponents using our high quality terrain and equipment, or just meet new people with similar interests; we host a range of events, including tournaments & campaigns, day trips to conventions and tournaments and social events for our members.
Our annually elected committee is always open to suggestions on how to improve the club.
Who are we?
We are a group who get together to socialise and play tabletop wargames. We started out over 30 years ago as the Torquay Gamers Club, but several years ago members of the club reinvented it as the Newton Abbot based Beer & Bullets. With only a handful of members to begin with, we quickly gained popularity and outgrew our small room at near Forde Park, moving to our current premises.
What do we do?
Our aim is to provide a venue with a friendly atmosphere for both gaming and socialising and to provide high quality terrain, gaming boards and facilities.
Our membership is booming with a wide age demographic and we play a variety of wargames, including popular Games Workshop systems, historical, modern, roleplay and we even have a resident group of table football players!
We also occasionally host social events such as barbeques for out members.
What games do we play?
We play a wide range of games including popular game systems such as Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Fantasy Battles, but also specialist games such as Battlefleet Gothic and historical games such as Warhammer Ancient Battles. Please feel free to post on our forums if you would like to pre-book a game.
Where & when do we meet?
We meet every Wednesday evening from 6.30pm to around 11.00pm. The club is located in the Kingskerswell village hall.
The standard entry cost is £2 for gaming or £1 for socialising and the first night is free, so feel free to come along! All revenue gained from entry costs is re-invested into the club to pay upkeep costs and to buy and maintain terrain and equipment.
The Committee
Every year we hold our Annual General Meeting in which we elect a new club council and give awards in recognition of members who have had a positive impact on the club.
